Across the Chiemsee to the royal castle! Lake Chiemsee is famous for its magnificent Alpine foothills - and for its many cultural treasures! One of the most famous is Herrenchiemsee Castle, built by King Ludwig II. A boat trip followed by a tour of the castle is probably the classic Chiemsee excursion.

The Kehlsteinhaus is a mountain inn above Berchtesgaden that was built between 1937 and 1938 by the NSDAP as a representative building. It stands just below the summit of the Kehlstein at an altitude of 1834 meters on a mountain spur. A tunnel lined with natural stone leads 124 meters through the rock massif to a brass-clad elevator. In just 41 seconds, the elevator travels another 124 meters into the interior of the Eagle's Nest.

The Predigtstuhlbahn is one of the oldest cable cars in the world and is the only cable car to be listed as a historical monument. From the very beginning, the Predigtstuhlbahn was regarded as the model of a perfect cable car and was the epitome of elegance in cable car construction.

Lokwelt Freilassing presents an authentic world of the railroad: the roundhouse, built in 1902, is located in the middle of the railroad premises, where historic locomotives are exhibited. The still-functioning turntable is impressive.
