Explore old farmhouses and marvel at the simple and varied life of earlier times. Take a wonderful ride on the historic museum train through the 50-hectare museum grounds.

Immerse yourself - just a few kilometers from Salzburg City - in six centuries of rural history.

The 100 buildings represent the typical rural building and living culture of the wide Salzburg region, with special attention paid to the surroundings of the farms and houses throughout the open-air museum. All the technical equipment of the rural working world is fully functional in the open-air museum and allows you to experience the working methods and technology of days gone by in an impressive way.
