A unique nature and driving experience.
The 48 km long pass road with 36 hairpin bends leads deep into the center of Austria's largest national park, whose 1,800 km² area covers the provinces of Salzburg, Tyrol and Carinthia. The highest point of the mountain road is the Edelweißspitze, which lies at just over 2,500 meters. Numerous three-thousand-metre peaks open up to the astonished gaze, but the highest of all is the Grossglockner and at 3,798 m, the striking mountain towers over the entire region.
As you climb up to 2,504 meters, you cross a unique mountain world with blooming alpine meadows, fragrant mountain forests, mighty rocks and eternal ice - all the way to the foot of the Großglockner, the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe.
