Nostalgically to the summit
Since 1893, it has been taking visitors from St. Wolfgang up to the impressive Schafberg at an altitude of 1,783 m. Between the end of April and October, both historic and modern cogwheel locomotives travel up the mountain - a journey that is an unforgettable experience in itself. During the leisurely ascent, spectacular views of the surrounding lakes and mountains open up again and again.
Once you reach the top, one of the most beautiful panoramic views in Austria awaits you. The striking summit of the Schafberg offers a breathtaking view over the Salzkammergut and invites you to linger, marvel and enjoy.
