“We’re a fun bunch,” says owner Daniela Reiter about the roughly 25-member team at her Königgut in Wals near Salzburg. Together with her family, she runs the hotel, which features 44 rooms and apartments, seven seminar rooms, and a rich agricultural history. Even though guests—rather than animals—are accommodated here today, the roots have always remained evident: a small farm is still part of the property, as is a farm stand offering fresh produce that also enriches the hotel’s cuisine. Now the Königgut is taking the next step: a comprehensive modernization including two new and thirteen renovated rooms, an expanded reception area, and a redesigned
seminar room. And with a generous expansion of the wellness area—for more space, more tranquility, and even more regal relaxation. In a way that allows the hotel to remain true to its origins while also looking to the future. Or, as they say at the Königgut: grown, not aloof.
